Flat Stanley has fun in California!!!

My name is Lise Ching. Flat Stanley went on a few adventures out here in California. So, Flat Stanley and I traveled to San Francisco on November 15th with a group of friends. We visited Pier 39, a great aquarium, the Wax Museum, went on a cruise on the bay to take a look at Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge. We even rode on a cable car! What a blast! We had fun with Flat Stanley, and hope that he can come visit us again soon!

Dear Sergio,

Flat Stanley wants me to tell you he had a very good time in New York. I took these pictures of him near the Brooklyn Bridge. I gave him a pair of sunglasses so he could look cool.

Flat Stanley also liked playing with the computer at my desk in the very tall building where I work. And he almost won a game of basketball with the guys at "the cage" on West 3rd Street. It's a big fence with a basketball court inside. The big fence keeps the ball from bouncing into the street.

Thank you for coloring Flat Stanley and sending him to me. He was a very good guest!

Flat Stanley has fun at St. Paul's House!!!

Dear Students of Room 202 at Bateman School,

Flat Stanley has been visiting with residents at St. Pauls House, a nursing home and sheltered care facility in Chicago. Our residents took Flat Stanley along on a bus ride, they toured Graceland Cemetery. Many of the important people involved in the history of Chicago are laid to rest there…including Daniel Burnham, who designed the layout of Chicago and proposed that the lake shore always be accessible to all the people in Chicago. Marshall Field is buried there as well…you may remember there is a store on State Street that his family helped run…its called Macy’s now!

Flat Stanley then spent some time with our receptionist, helping her greet visitors and family members who came to visit.

Flat Stanley also greeted residents as they arrived at St Pauls House Chapel to attend Sunday morning services. Residents of different faiths attend services each week.

Flat Stanley participated in a Halloween party for the residents at St Pauls. A group of students from Holy Trinity High School, members of the National Honor Society brought costume hats and sang songs, and provided treats and pumpkins for our residents.

Flat Stanly also visited with the Election Judges, when our residents voted in the general election to elect our new president.

As you can see, Flat Stanley has been busy. We are going to keep Flat Stanley busy in the next few weeks: He will attend our Thanksgiving luncheon, share services for Christmas, and help the residents bring in the new year.

Stanley gets some sun in South Beach!!!!

Stanley took a walk to the beach and on the way he stopped at the Miami Beach Police Department to play on top of the tank that's out front. Then Stanley played on the beach. He saw the people and the buildings as well as the umbrellas, birds, kids and even the lifeguard. He got buried in the sand too! Stanley swam in the ocean and played in the sand.
After the beach Stanley went to the Miami Beach pool. He played with the kids in the cool water park and got his picture taken with the life guard at the pool. After swimming Stanley went to the park and played some tennis. He really enjoyed it!
After a long nap, Stanley played with our Dogs Tootie and Edna. Edna tried to eat Stanley a little bit. They had so much fun! For dinner, Stanley had his favorite: Pizza and Coke! He was so full afterwards that he went right to sleep. Stanley had such a great trip to Miami Beach. Thank you for sending him!

Flat Stanley loves the warm weather in Florida!!!

Dear Isabel,

Flat Stanley visited us in Central Florida at an adult community called Solivita. It is a place were people that are older, like Grandma and Grandpa's live. We had a fun time with Stanley. He went to our playground, golf course, swimming and just walking the street of our community. We also took him to Epcot at Walt Disney World. At Epcot we took him on the ride in the Large Sphere (our friends are holding him) and to see a concert at the American experience. Lastly we took Stanley to see an orange grove. We loved having Stanley visit and Isabel we will send your friend back to you. Tell your teacher to watch for him.

Flat Stanley visits Ms. Ruby in Mahwah, NJ!!!

Jason,

Wow. We had so much fun last night. Alexia and I live in a small town in Mahwah, New Jersey. This town is the last town before New York State and is very pretty. Right now all the leaves have turned very different colors and it is getting colder. Flat Stanley kept us company last night as we stayed home and gave out candy to all of the children. We live in an apartment and decorated the hallway. Flat Stanley was a big help! Even Ruby, our pet bunny, likes FS. We have another bunny named Mr. Bunny but we cannot get him to sit still long enough to take his picture with FS!

Flat Stanley visits a mayor!!!

Yazmin-
Stanley went with Grace and I to her school, Madison Park. Her first grade teacher, Ms. Seely loved having a visitor to class. Stanley also visited City Hall where I work as the Business Development Director. He helped the Mayor, City Clerk and Police Department. Litchfield is a town of 7,000 people. Grace took Stanley with her to her soccer game where she scored two goals. Stanley went with our family to a weiner roast where we cooked hot dogs and smores by the fire on our Uncle's farm. Then he went to small town Halloween Parade. Stanley helped us carve two pumpkins. Grace looks like one of the pumpkins missing her front teeth. Thank you for letting Stanley visit our town. Everyone loved him here.

Thanks!!! Tonya

Flat Stanley enjoys the nature in Upstate New York!

We had a great time in upstate New York with Stanley. The trees were almost as colorful as he was. Fall is a beautiful time in New York, especially for rock climbing in the Catskills. Stanley was avery impressive climber. He could get into places we couldn't, and he weighs so little that he could climb all day. I have to say I was quite jealous. Stanley was so friendly, he made all kindso f friends everywhere we went. Even strange people in the subway. Lots of colorful characters there too. He fit right in. Stanley, what a great little guy. I wish I could travel as easily as him.

Dear Dania:

Thank you for sending Stanley to visit me in New York City. We had such a great time!As you know, the market hasn't been doing well so, Stanley went to check things out himself. He tried to go to the NY stock exchange, but he couldn't get in, but he did visit Wall Street. He visited Tiffany's to get his mom a gift,b but he needs just a bit more money. He went to check the workers out at the largest Teamster union in the country where people were phone banking for Obama. Lastly, for fun, he joined a carnival and learned to dance.
